Christmas Decorating Ideas: Porches

There’s a certain joy that fill our spirits when December first comes around. Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s evident all around. Excitement builds as a first snow falls, and though there is a chill in the air, there’s a warm glow surrounding the season. Christmas carols are heard around town and coffee shops are featuring holiday blends. Porches are lit up at night with strings of red and green lights. Families gather around the crackling fireplace with mugs of hot chocolate. The tree is trimmed with tinsel and decorations and candy canes, while garland is wrapped around the banister. As cozy as the inside of our homes are decorated, we’ve found some inspirational Christmas Decorating Ideas with a focus on the front porch.

Hanging large, silver ornaments makes a strong holiday statement while the trees showcase the Christmas vibe.

Simple red and white ornaments provide a striking look against the green garland.

white and blue decorations

White and blue accents allow for a cozy winter feeling. We love the touch of the stocking, which brings in some seasonal spirit.

The antique sled with skates hanging from it are a unique and welcoming touch to this display of festive wreaths and garland.

presents on porch

Who doesn’t love presents? This display emphasizes the fun spirit the Christmas season brings.

large gold decorations

The bold, over-sized, gold accents are an elegant touch to this doorway.

nutcrackers

The nutcrackers on this porch bring back childhood memories of the classic holiday story.

This time of the year is one of my favourites, and I certainly can’t wait to start decorating. I hope these give you some inspiration as well!

  1. I love the first image. I can not wait to be back to my house to decorate. I love the large ornaments outside. I have always wanted to decorate outside but I never really knew that to do. I will be saving these ideas for next year.
